Skilled in Demand Visa (SIDV) — Australia's New Pathway for Global Talent

Launched in 2024, the Skilled in Demand Visa (SIDV) is Australia's flagship program designed to attract highly skilled workers in occupations facing critical shortages. The SIDV offers streamlined pathways to live and work in Australia, providing both provisional and permanent residency options depending on your skills, experience, and industry demand.

What is the Skilled in Demand Visa (SIDV)?

The SIDV allows skilled workers with occupations on the Australian Government's demand lists to live and work in Australia. The visa aims to address workforce shortages in priority sectors such as health, engineering, construction, ICT, and more. It replaces older temporary shortage visas like the Subclass 482 (TSS) in many sectors, offering clearer pathways to permanent residency.
